Meet Roversa

Roversa is a low-cost, adaptable, and multilingual educational robotics platform designed to foster equitable computer science  education. Roversa is a stand-alone device that has 2 servo motors and 7 buttons to control the robot’s movement and menus for language and calibration options. The robot's custom printed circuit board is the main connector to the micro:bit platform, a popular microcontroller in K-12 educational contexts. The robot was designed to be laser cut and assembled in a simple manner with little hardware.

Roversa is designed to be low-cost, ensuring that schools with varying budget constraints can embrace the benefits of robotics in education. Universal design for learning (UDL) principles were incorporated to enhance accessibility for all students.
Roversa is an easy to implement platform for teachers that allows students to progress from simple computer science concepts like sequences to more advanced concepts through block- and text-based programming languages in a single platform.
Roversa's multilingual interface provides students the opportunity to engage with the robot in their native language which is an important ingredient in creating an engaging and inclusive platform for all.
