About Us
In 2022, a group of researchers and grad students from the University of Virginia and Universidad del Norte got together to share their passion and ideas for making computer science education equitable and accessible for everyone, everywhere. Their vision included conducting research, providing professional learning opportunities and creating low-cost computational tools. In 2024, we founded Roversa Robotics LLC to help turn that vision into reality.
Eric Bredder, co-founder, earned his PhD in the School of Education at UVA with a focus on CS and STEM education. An award-winning educator, he is known for the engaging, hands-on technology and engineering learning experiences he offers his students. Eric is the inventor and designer of Roversa.
Kim Wilkens, EdD, co-founder, is the director of the Global Center for Equitable Computer Science Education at UVA. Kim has been at the forefront of K-8 CS education at the local, state, national, and global level and has over twenty years experience integrating CS in both school and out-of-school time settings.
